How does car rental in Dubai work?

Car rental businesses allow customers to rent out cars for short periods of time. However, the company does not provide drivers. Renting a car in Dubai can be done by people with a license, people who do not own a car, visiting foreigners, and owners of damaged or destroyed cars awaiting repair.

Procedure for starting a car rental business in Dubai

If you are in UAE, you need to prepare the following documents to open a car rental business in Dubai:

1. A copy of your passport

2. Copy of Emirates Identity Card (EID)

3. Copy of visa page

4. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your current sponsor.

5. Copy of your Ejari (commercial lease agreement)

6. Dubai Road Transport Authority (RTA) requirements



Requirements

1. The date of manufacture of the vehicles must fall within the same year in which the application for registration is made, or must not exceed 24 months from the date of application for registration.

The following vehicles are exempt from these requirements:

Luxury cars or vehicles valued above UAE AED 600,000, provided the date of manufacture does not exceed four years. The value of the vehicles must also be supported by official documents.

- Classic cars over 30 years old, as required by the Vehicle Licensing Department (VLD).

- Vehicles that have not been used at all.
